Youth-Led Climate Action in Somalia
Empowering Communities to Face Climate Change
PUSAN works at the intersection of climate resilience, sustainable agriculture, land restoration, and youth advocacy — building a more sustainable future for Somalia.
Built by Youth, For Communities
The Puntland Sustainable Agrilivestock Network (PUSAN) was founded in 2015 in Garowe, Puntland State of Somalia. We are a registered non-profit civil society organization led by young people who believe that climate change is not a distant threat — it is a daily reality for millions of Somalis.
Our work focuses on the communities most affected by climate shocks: pastoralists losing their herds to drought, farmers watching their soil erode, families displaced by advancing sand dunes, and young people with no voice in the decisions that shape their future.
We work at the intersection of field implementation and global policy — connecting community needs with international climate processes through YOUNGO, UNFCCC COPs, UNCCD, and the Global Environment Facility.
Our Vision
A climate-resilient Puntland and Somalia where communities thrive, ecosystems are restored, and youth lead environmental action at every level.
Our Mission
To strengthen climate resilience, promote sustainable land and food systems, and empower youth and communities in Puntland and Somalia to drive environmental solutions from the ground up.
