About Us
The Punt. Sustainable Agrilivestock Network (PUSAN) is a youth-led, non-profit organization
established in 2015 in Garowe, Puntland. The organization works to strengthen resilience among
pastoral and agro-pastoral communities through ecosystem restoration, climate adaptation, and
sustainable livelihood development.
PUSAN promotes regenerative rangeland management, agroecological food systems, and community-
based natural resource governance. Key interventions include ecological rehabilitation, Farmer
Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR), climate-smart agriculture, sustainable fodder production, and
dairy value chain development. The organization also supports Community Natural Resource
Management Committees (CNRMCs), facilitates by-law development for rangeland governance, and
strengthens early warning and early action systems.
Through integrated community-based approaches, PUSAN contributes to restoring degraded
ecosystems, enhancing adaptive capacity to climate change, and improving livelihood sustainability in
drought-prone regions. Furthermore, the organization conducts awareness-raising campaigns on
ecosystem restoration and promotes early warning and early action systems to enhance preparedness
and reduce the risks associated with droughts and other climate-related shocks.
